I inherited this system from someone else — I don't know if it's bad or just old.
The 72-hour diagnostic reads how the system actually behaves, not documentation or the previous owner's memory. You'll get a ranked view of real risk versus old, and enough evidence to decide on the next steps.
Why don't you publish any prices — what are you hiding?
Scope varies widely between systems, so a published number would mislead or force padding. The diagnostic produces the scoped picture; and the fee is quoted for that job. You approve each step, no hidden costs.
What exactly do you do in those 72 hours?
Read and, if possible, run parts of the system, trace the failures, rank them by risk. You get a written report: ranked risks, fix order, an approach plan, effort/cost estimates. This report is yours to keep, whatever you decide to do next. If 72h is not enough time to gather information due to other blockers, you will get our best insights from the data we have access to.
Is the cheap diagnostic just a bait-and-switch to upsell a bigger project?
The diagnostic is complete work on its own. Its report is yours whether or not you continue, and nothing about the first step obligates a second.
The report is mine to keep — is it useful if I take it to another vendor?
Yes. The report stands on its own. The ranked risks, fix order, and approach plan are detailed enough for another team to act on without reconstructing the reasoning. Taking it elsewhere is a valid way to use it.
Will my data be used to train an AI model?
No. Client data is not used to train AI models without their knowledge and explicit opt-in permission in the engagement agreement. When using AI models hosted by third parties, we select models and providers that follow zero data retention: this includes logs and training.
How do you fix a system without taking it down?
Changes go in beside the running system: staged replacement, feature flags, canary releases, and a rollback path for every step. The old path keeps serving traffic until the new one proves itself. If any downtime is needed, we can plan ahead of time.
After launch, can my team run it without you — or am I tied to you forever?
Everything produced is yours, unless agreed otherwise in writing: code, accounts, data, and datasets. We create handover documents for your team. The care plan is optional. If you leave, everything you need leaves with you.
How do you handle my source code, credentials, and production data?
Access is least-privilege and scoped: read-only where reading suffices, production changes only through staged, reversible steps. Credentials live in a secrets manager and rotate at handoff. Source code and data stay in your accounts, deletable at the end on request.
Why should I pick you over a big firm with a name I recognize?
A big firm's name carries overhead: account layers, a delivery team assembled after the sale, decisions routed through people who never scoped the work. We keep it lean and charge you accordingly. You have direct line of contact with who is implementing the features.
Can't I just do this myself with ChatGPT or Claude?
You can, and for a personal tool you probably should. AI alone won't give you what we offer: quality gates, guardrails, seamless integration, and accountability.
